The enlightment influenced the revolutions in various ways. The ideas written by the enlightment thinkers influenced the revolutionary leaders into searching for a new way of living. This is demonstrated in many of the declarations of independence, for example the American Declaration of independence, which is inspired in John Locke’s works and ideas. Also the revolutions that were going on during the enlighten such as the Glorious Revolution inspired thinkers like John Locke which to write books about what was going on at this time period. This quote is an extract from this book “The toleration of those that differ from others in matters of religion is so agreeable to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to the genuine reason of mankind, that it seems monstrous for men to be so blind as not to perceive the necessity and advantage of it in so clear a light.” It explains how religion is a disagreement during those times. He says that men find it unacceptable to differ in religious matters. Just like in the glorious revolution religion was an issue. Many revolutionists in the French revolution were led to create movements in order for the people to reason and think of how unfair their royal family was. Overall, the revolutions were influenced by many of the enlighten thinkers, and were very important for many of the country’s change of governments.

The French Revolution during the years 1789-1830 was due to the mayor inequality formulated by the national powers during this time period. This was not the only revolution during that time period many revolutionists were inspired by the enlightment thinkers. The French Revolution caused many other revolts in countries like Portugal, Haiti, Argentina and Paraguay. Napoleon Bonaparte was the emperor of France during the time period of 1820 he invaded Portugal, which led the royal family to flee to Brazil. When everything settled they went back and left someone behind in charge, which was the one to independisize from Portugal. This made the slaves from Haiti revel against the French Empire so they could have their rights too. The other colonies that were conquested by France at this time were reveling against Napoleon’s empire.

Inequality was an immense issue during this time period, wither it was social, political or economical. It trigger anger between the people and it often led to revolutions. For example the French revolution, people got tired of the uneven system they lived in. This made them turn against their national power. Normal people who were not nobles or royalty were treated badly and were farmers and their life quality was horrifying. The taxes were increased to maintain the royal family. This triggered the revolution. Also in the Mexican revolution the Encomienda Systems were very unfair to indigenous people, since they were forced to work in the fields. The inequality between the British citizens and the American colonists was noticeable. British citizens were richer and treated better than the colonists in America; this led to inconformity of the people who lived in the 13 colonies of Britain. Due to inequality the revolutions mentioned were triggered by the anger of the citizens of their countries.
